Andrew's Business Background
Andrew was the East Midlands Chairman of the Institute of Directors and served on the East Midlands Regional Assembly as a business representative. Andrew was an active supporter of the `Business for Sterling` and `No` campaigns.
Campaigns
- Resisting cuts in the levels of policing in North West Leicestershire and guaranteeing that rural communities receive a fair share of police resources.
- Ensuring that damage to property resulting from subsidence is investigated and managed correctly.
- Working to ensure good quality local services and value for money for council tax payers.
- Working to improve the local road network.
- Resisting the plans for opencast mining in Ravenstone that are being imposed on the area by central Government.
- Ensuring that house building in the constituency is linked to improvements in local infrastructure including transport, leisure, retail and healthcare.
