Andrew Bridgen MP visits Ibstock Junior School to help them call on world leaders to Go for Gold! for education
Andrew Bridgen MP is supporting Ibstock Junior School’s Send My Friend to School Campaign to help highlight that over 67 million children around the world are still missing out on education.
Andrew is happy that Ibstock Junior School is joining with thousands of schools across the UK, and in over 100 countries worldwide, to show their commitment for education to all. Andrew said: “It was an honour to receive the Go for Gold medals the children created. It is so important that every child has the opportunity to achieve their potential and education is key to that. I am pleased to support the campaign I have written to the Prime Minister David Cameron on behalf of Ibstock Junior School to ensure that he is aware of their support for the campaign”.
Janet Convery, Global Campaign for Education UK said: “Every year we are so impressed with the huge numbers of schools that take part in the campaign, but also the level of their involvement and the obvious passion that pupils in the UK feel about their peers overseas who miss out on school”.
Education is a basic human right and the route out of poverty. Now is the time to use energy created when the world visits London for the Olympics to remind world leaders of their promise and urge them to Go for Gold! In the great global education race.
