MP supports Ashby fun day
Local MP Andrew Bridgen attended the first Vintage Tractor Run and Family Fun Day in Ashby, in aid of the Mayor’s charity, and afterwards joined the Mayor in hoping that more events like it will take place in the town in future.
The procession of 50 gleaming tractors through the town culminated at the Bath Grounds, the venue for the fun day, and Andrew said: “It was a pleasure to support the Mayor and his charity. It was great to see the Bath Grounds used for an event like this in aid of a good cause with so many people enjoying the fun day.”
There were stalls by local traders and the Ashby army cadets, and the money raised going to the Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.
The Mayor of Ashby Jim Hoult said: “It was a fantastic day despite poor weather, and I hope we can build on this and make it an annual event.”
