Speaking to The Telegraph in response to an article about NHS and other key workers being targeted for ID passes, Andrew Bridgen has called for tough sentences for anyone impersonating NHS workers to take advantage of people's generosity.
“The people who are perpetrating these crimes against the NHS workers are the lowest of the low and we need to punish them appropriately.
“It is a fact that crises such as these bring out the best and worst in the nation. Fortunately, the best vastly outnumbers the worst, but we must be eternally vigilant. There must be a clear deterrent to make these low lives think twice.
“We need to send a clear message that anybody or impersonating NHS staff will be punished severely”.
Andrew is writing to Leader of the House of Commons Jacob Rees-Mogg calling for this issue to be brought before Parliament.
