Andrew Bridgen, the MP for North West Leicestershire, has paid a visit to the world famous Donington Race Circuit.

The directors of newly-formed Donington Park Ltd (DPL), Will Kelly and Steve Watton, welcomed Andrew and showed him round the site.

The circuit boasts the largest collection of Grand Prix and Formula 1 cars in the world, known as the Donington Collection, and Andrew drove round the track to see the completed construction work and other recent improvements to the circuit’s infrastructure.

Andrew said: “I am delighted to know the track is repaired and I hope that the safety inspections are successful.

“I look forward to the circuit bringing more jobs into the constituency, and being a great host for future leisure activities.”

The Adroit Group, which will be taking on the operating lease for Donington Park through DPL, is investing £2 million to return the circuit to active racing.

The Donington Circuit has been modified to meet current safety requirements.
